Outdoor Advertising Structures

JCS Group Services designs and installs outdoor advertising structures, including digital display supports, advertising panels, banners and hoardings. Our work covers the foundations, supporting steelwork and installation needed to bring an advertising site into use or replace an existing structure.

We work across the UK, with a particular focus on London and the South East. Our project experience includes roadside advertising sites, building-mounted displays and temporary installations in busy public locations.

Construction and installation for outdoor media projects

For outdoor advertising operators, media owners and site developers, the display is one part of a wider construction job. The supporting structure must suit the location, the foundations need to account for the ground conditions, and the installation has to fit the access available.

JCS brings together in-house design and engineering, construction operatives, transport, plant and machinery. This allows us to coordinate several parts of the work through one team, from preparing the site to installing the structure.

Our experience includes removing existing advertising panels and steelwork, constructing new foundations and installing replacement digital displays. We also undertake bespoke structures where the position or layout of the site calls for a purpose-made solution.

Working around restricted sites

Advertising installations often take place close to roads, neighbouring buildings or areas used by the public. Access arrangements, temporary works and the order of construction can all affect how the job is delivered.

At Burdett Road in Tower Hamlets, JCS replaced an existing advertising panel with a digital panel on new steelwork and foundations. The foundations were within 300mm of neighbouring Victorian properties, so the project required a detailed temporary works design and liaison with the neighbouring property’s surveyor. Traffic management and parking suspensions were also arranged to provide access.

That project shows why the site needs to be understood before construction begins. The visible installation depends on work below ground and arrangements around it.

Experience with digital displays, banners and hoardings

Our completed work includes a digital advertising panel on a bespoke structure at Crane Street in Manchester, with landscaping around the installation. At Piccadilly Circus, we installed digital panels on a purpose-made structure surrounding the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain for the festive period.

Our experience also includes a campaign banner installation at London Bridge, involving liaison with Transport for London over permits and an overnight installation to meet the campaign launch date.

These projects involved different structures and site conditions, but each required the construction and installation work to fit a defined location and programme.

Discuss your advertising installation
