Bespoke Structures & Installation

JCS Group Services designs and installs bespoke structures for sites where a standard solution does not suit the space or the intended use. Our project experience includes cedar-finished structures, staircases, shelters, decking and purpose-made supports for outdoor advertising.

We bring together design, engineering and installation experience to consider how a structure will be made, delivered and fitted into its location.

Structures designed around the space

A bespoke installation often starts with a practical constraint. The available space may be limited, the structure may need to work alongside an existing building, or its appearance may form an important part of the development.

For property developers, main contractors, schools and outdoor advertising operators, these requirements affect more than the finished design. They can also shape the foundations, materials, transport arrangements and installation sequence.

JCS has experience of designing and installing a staircase within a restricted space, as well as manufacturing and installing a custom-made structure finished in western red cedar at Barking Riverside.

Both examples show the value of considering the location and the installation method as part of the design.

Shelters, decking and outdoor structures

Our work includes a three-bay Centurion shelter at Priory School in Hertfordshire, with the associated hardstanding and asphalt reinstatement. We have also installed riverfront decking and fencing at Barking Riverside.

These types of projects bring several elements together. The structure needs to suit its purpose, the surrounding ground must be prepared, and adjoining surfaces and boundaries need to fit the completed layout.

For a school planning a shelter or a developer adding an outdoor feature, it helps to consider those elements within the same brief. Photographs, drawings and a clear explanation of how the space will be used give the project a useful starting point.

Bespoke supports for advertising installations

Our background in outdoor advertising includes purpose-made structures for digital displays and temporary installations.

At Crane Street in Manchester, JCS installed a digital advertising panel on a bespoke structure, with landscaping around it. At Piccadilly Circus, we installed digital panels on a structure surrounding the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain for the festive period.

These installations required the structure to respond to a specific location and use. That experience also informs our wider construction work, where fitting the design to the site is an important part of the job.

From initial brief to installation

Our in-house design and engineering team works alongside experienced site operatives, supported by our transport, plant and machinery. This helps connect the design decisions with the practical work needed on site.

Tell us what the structure needs to do, where it will be installed and any limits on space or access. Whether you have a developed drawing or an initial idea, we can discuss the information needed to take the project forward.
